WILD UP: Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue with Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra feat. Conrad TAO

Rhapsody in Blue is new again, 100 years later. The Soraya recreates the rarely performed original 1924 version of the rousing and raucous classic, originally composed by Gershwin for a jazz band, not the orchestral version more commonly performed. Conductor Chris Rountree leads the swinging ensemble, with Conrad Tao at the piano. The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra rounds out the evening with more charts from Gershwin and his contemporaries.”

LIVESTREAM LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4pINO69xQE&feature=youtu.be

Kontrapunktus would like to personally invite you to our FREE livestream concert–The Red Priest: A Portrait of Antonio Vivaldi, premiering on YouTube Live on January 9, 2021 at 7:00pm PST/10:00pm EST. Due to the current climate of our world, we felt that a Virtual Baroque Experience would be the safest way to deliver on our mission to mend divisions through the universal grace and beauty of classical music.

Our program includes six rarely performed concertos that are a departure of the familiar “Four Seasons” by Italian Baroque composer, Antonio Vivaldi. Presenting his genius in a transcendent light–our performers comprise of some of the finest young classical musicians in the world, hailing from the Colburn School, the Juilliard School, and the USC Thornton School of Music.
